Dreams Impact on History by TOI THOMAS

The ancient Greeks believed, Morpheus, the god of dreams would send people prophecies and warnings in their dreams if they slept in his temple.

Christians believe God can speak to them through dreams while Muslims believe revelation can only come through dream interpretation.

A friend of mine pointed out to me that “The Aztecs were nomads settled in what is now Mexico City (Pyramids right outside) because of a Dream.” ~from our lovely host, M.C.V. Egan

How many other events in history have occurred because someone had a dream?

In my book, Eternal Curse: Giovanni’s Angel, dreams are very important. They fuel the action and motivate the characters to seek truth and understanding, but sometimes they just unsettle them.

When reading this book, you’ll understand why my main character doesn’t worry about missing sleep. For in sleep, he finds bad dreams, dream that are so real, they could also be memories- memories of a time long gone by and recorded in history.

How have dreams affected your history? Do you dream of reality or do you fantasize the past and glamorize your hopes for the future?
